Greetings from Anthony Stewart

Below is a greeting from the new seminarian, Anthony Stewart, we are sponsoring.  Please join me in welcoming him and including him in our prayers.

Dear Knights Council 4972,

Hello!  I wanted to write you all to express my gratitude for your willingness to support me in these final years of my formation as a seminarian.  Unfortunately, I cannot thank you all in person at the moment because I am studying in Rome. I will return to the diocese in June for the summer, and it is my hope that I can come by and meet you all at a council meeting.  However, so you all know a little bit about me until then allow me to introduce myself.   My name is Anthony Stewart, and I am a seminarian for the Diocese of Nashville.  I’m 26 years old, and from McEwen, TN.  McEwen is a small town just about 50 miles west of Nashville.  It is home to the world’s famous Irish Picnic.  I was born and raised in McEwen, and my home parish is St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  I have three siblings. (2 sisters and a brother)  I am the second of four.  My mother is a nurse and my step-father works as a foreman for a construction company.  I have not always been a catholic.  My senior year of high school I converted to Catholicism from a Nazarene Church.  After high school, I attended Aquinas College in Nashville for two years before ending up in seminary.   I am currently in my sixth year of formation for the diocese.  The last three years I have been living in Rome, Italy studying at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.  Previous to coming to Rome I studied in Columbus, Ohio at the Pontifical College Josephinum.  I only have two years left before I am ordained a priest.  This coming September I will be ordained a deacon at St. Peter’s basilica along with my classmates.

Once again, thank you all for your support!  Please know of my prayers for Council 4972.

In Christ,

Anthony
